Pandemic World Series
While I was making the work Soupreme Pandemia Soup, I remembered another representative Pop Art work, Three Flags, by Jasper Johns. People who, taking care to protect themselves from the virus, tried in different ways to replace the surgical mask in the acute lack of stock of this product. Looking at images from around the world, I concluded that the mask is already known and used worldwide, regardless of the social class of the person who uses it. This is how The New World Flag appeared, in which the surgical mask becomes a universal flag. Also known as Pandemic World, this work is representative for the political, financial and social crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
